Episode 17 from Young Sheldon Season 5 was revealed to reveal that the character’s older sister Georgie Cooper managed to impregnate his girlfriend Mandy this week.
The sequel to The Big Bang Theory is an absolute winner in regards to Easter eggs. So following the cliffhanger that was left, TV Line asked creator Steven Molaro on whether this is the start of Georgie’s “two ex-wives” and his family’ arc that was mentioned in the Big Bang’s finale.
“It can be,” he teased, before explaining: “We don’t have a exact plan in front of us. To a certain extent, we aren’t tied to what was mentioned in the Big Bang.
“I say, there are certain things we’ll honor but we also need to be doing what is best for this particular series.”
Molaro has worked on the sitcom’s mainstay and Drake & Josh in his time, then went on to add: “If anybody points to an aspect that doesn’t match to Big Bang, I’m happy to say the fact that in Cheers, Frasier was an single child, and the whole thing was resolved when Niles (his brother) suddenly showed up.”
In his interview, the fact that young Sheldon has transformed into a drama became a topic of discussion.
“It wasn’t a simple black-and-white choice such as, ‘Hey! let’s make this an drama.’ The elements were there all the time. to it, and then a while ago, we began making a few more dramatic stories, and it began to make sense,” the series boss revealed.
“The children were reaching an age at which we could be more involved and share stories that felt that they were valued by us. It’s been a natural progression and that’s how we want things to develop whenever they can and we’ve stayed along that path. It seems to be working.”
