Down Detector recorded a sharp drop in Instagram down reports. This indicates that whatever problem was causing Stories and Explore issues earlier today has been fixed.
According to Down Detector statistics, Instagram users were affected by problems for approximately one and a quarter hours today before service issues ended.
Instagram down reports are flooding in today, with users reporting issues seeing Stories today and seeing strange things happening with their Explore feed. Today’s Instagram problems began at 6pm UK time. Independent outage monitor Down Detector registered thousands of reports about Instagram down. Downdetector.com has received almost 4,000 reports about Instagram down so far, while Twitter is flooded by messages about Instagram Stories and the Explore feed.

Another wrote: “Is it me or are there other Instagram stories acting up?”

In other news on Instagram, Meta added NFTs to the photo-sharing social network this week.
Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg hinted that Facebook may soon follow Instagram’s lead.
Zuckerberg stated that he was starting to build for NFTs in his metaverse and Reality Labs work as well as across his family of apps.
“We are testing digital collectibles via Instagram, so creators and collectors have the opportunity to display their NFTs.”
If Facebook’s rollout looks anything like Instagram’s, then NFTs will be available to a limited number of users.
For a limited number of US-based creators, NFTs were launched on Instagram.
Adam Mosseri, Instagram boss, has stated that NFTs are only available to “a few US creators and collectors”.
Mosseri said that there will be no charges for sharing a digital collection on IG.
An accompanying badge will also be displayed alongside an NFT when it is posted to Instagram.
