A Broxtowe Conservative MP has spoken out on the first occasion about his wife’s speeding ticket. Darren Henry is married to Nottinghamshire’s crime commissioner and police officer, Caroline Henry, who was recently in court for five speeding offenses.
The crime commissioner, 52 who is from Giltbrook is in District judge in Nottingham Magistrates Court in July following plead guilty to speeding five times. She was given an indefinite driving ban, a massive fine of PS2,450, court costs and the charge for victim abuse of PS190 as well as 15 penalty points on her license.
Conservative Mrs Henry was elected to run the county and oversee the operation of Nottinghamshire Police, including promoting certain activities and overseeing the financial management of the police force. After her sentence, many called to resign, however she’s stated that she will remain in her position.
She is the mother of two children who have complicated special needs, and both must be in residential care full-time. She recently made a public statement about events that involved her children that she hopes would provide some perspective to the frantic events.
In a press conference held at Toton Lane park and ride on August 22, when her husband, Mr Henry revealed a bid of $ 40 million for a brand new road. Nottinghamshire Live asked if he will be speaking about the speeding offenses.
Mr. Henry stated: “If you want to speak about the police and crime commissioner I suggest you speak to her directly.” The chairperson of the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Panel, Christine Goldstraw, previously stated that she considered the issue to be closed. “She has got her just deserts,” she said.
