The Bank Holiday crowds are being criticized for abandoning Ayr beach looking like a trash tip.

A tweet from their Twitter feed stated: “As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, we would like everyone to come and take advantage of our gorgeous beaches.
“We want to ensure they are beautiful and unfortunately there are some not looking their best after a long weekend.
“Take an interest in these images of Ayr beach that were snapped in the early morning hours of this morning.
“While we are always on our regular schedule of taking out bins from these areas, there are times when due to the amount of trash, bins be stuffed up quickly.
“If this occurs, it is your responsibility to take the rubbish to the curb and get rid of it properly.
“Our Neighbourhood Services team are now cleaning up the mess that reckless people have left behind.
“Remember that you should leave only you footprints along the shore.”
