Upload season 3 release date: What date will it set to come back?
There’s good news! As of May 20, 2022, Upload has been confirmed to be returning for season 3.
In a post-show announcement celebrating the renewed show Amazon’s head of Global TV Vernon Sanders wrote (via Deadline): “Upload has grown into a huge success that is one of the most-watched comedy series in the world on Prime Video. The show continues to connect and create endless possibilities in technological advancement and humankind.
“With Greg’s unique comedy take together with his energetic creative team and skilled actors, they’ve created an extremely relevant and global series that we’re very pleased to have back for an additional season for our customers.”
The writer Greg Daniels had made no secret that he was hoping for additional episodes. He even admitted that he had returned to writing season three prior to the show’s second season was even released.
At the time, he also working on the Netflix the comedy Space Force Space Force, which is now cancelled.
Speaking to The Collider in advance of season two’s premiere, Daniels explained: “I’m working on season 3 in the same room. We’re at the halfway point. Also, I’m having high hopes that this one is going to continue rolling forward.
“I refer to [Prime Video] as we are extremely enthusiastic about the new episodes of the second season which is one of the reasons we’re still in the process of creation of the show… The show is very visual-effects heavy which is why, even though we shot it prior to Space Force, it’s scheduled to premiere in the month following Space Force because the amount of visual effects work means that the post-production process is very lengthy.
“So they’re really keen to be on the scene so season three can be completed in the fastest time we can get it done.”
If the show is confirmed to be continuing, the actor said in the statement: “I’m thrilled to continue the story of Nathan and Nora and the rest of the residents of Lakeview and the near future of America as they strive to have fun while doing the right thing both in reality and the virtual.”
Filming schedules are bound to be difficult, especially because of key actors taking on new roles. Particularly, Robbie Amell who plays the main character Nathan has been chosen to be part of the third season of The Witcher.
The production began the 18th of August (via Midgard Times) and is scheduled to conclude in November. The show’s stars Amell, Andy Allo, and Owen Daniels confirmed the start of production on their social media accounts.
