The Masked Singer and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will mix their programs to create a special one-off episode shortly.
“I’m A Celebrity… You’re a Celebrity! Me Out of Here! and The Masked Singer are combining their show to create an episode that is special.
The two shows will come together for an exclusive event on television that will be telecast both ITV as well as ITV Hub in the coming months.
A new episode from The Masked Singer will take on a theme of jungle that will be a re-creation of the popular annual program.
It will receive an upgrade to the jungle, in the same way it was confirmed that I’m a Celeb will return in the Australian jungle in the wake of two years being shot in the UK because of coronavirus restrictions.
Celebrities taking part will be attired head-to-toe in costumes that adhere to the theme of nature, like kangaroos and witchy snacks.
Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan are returning as judges, as well as having special guests as stars panellists.
A former friend from the jungle and hosts, Joel Dommett will be back as host of the TV show.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning said: “What is a better way to mark returning of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! and a unique mash that combines two extremely successful shows. The viewers will be able to experience everything Jungle and a fantastically zany Masked Singer twist.
“With flamboyant costumes that pay homage to the iconic series as it returns to Australia, families will be able to play alongside our panel in TV’s favourite guessing game.”
Bandicoot Scotland’s founders Derek McLean and Daniel Nettleton added: “We are huge fans of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! We are happy to honor this groundbreaking and extremely successful series with an exclusive version of The Masked Singer.
“The celebrities might think that the jungle is a test of endurance, but singing on national television wearing head-to-toe in a huge costume isn’t easy.
“They may not be playing to win food for their campmates but they will have to hone their singing skills as they attempt to fool the panel and keep them in the dark. With costumes that reflect all things Jungle, this is definitely a show viewers won’t want to miss.”
It was reported that there might possibly be an I’m A Celeb All Stars version.
The spin-off will see well-known actors returning to the show in an all-new camp situated in South Africa.
It’s believed that the special program may air in 2023.
Former contestants like Helen Flanagan and Jordan Banjo could be amongst the list of contestants.
Other stars who are expected to be returning include the 2017 winners Georgia Toffolo, former boxing world champion Amir Khan, former royal butler Paul Burrell, Eastenders star Dean Gaffney and Carol Vorderman.
The show is believed to be pre-recorded prior to airing to air.
