Expert in gardening and TV host Carol Klein is returning to screens this week with fresh episode from the Channel 5 series, :The Carol Klein Show’s Gardening in Summer, which allows viewers to visit the gardens of her country residence, Glebe Cottage.
The beautiful garden has been nearly 43 years in the making and is often utilized as a filming location for her television appearances. Want a closer look? Take a look at some of the highlights of this garden …
Carol as well as her partner Neil moved into their Devon home in the year 1978 and have two children there. Presently, Carol and Neil live in the same home with their cat Sylvie and their dog Fifi who frequently appear on Carol’s Facebook page.
Because her garden is vast , Carol has plenty of room to grow vegetables and fruits, such as onions, pumpkins, courgettes and courgettes. In one video released last summer, Carol displayed her amazing harvest by saying: “Here’s our courgettes, and our Crown Prince pumpkins. They’re pretty nice, aren’t they?”
In another video, Carol gave followers a glimpse of the life-sized gypsy caravan her husband Neil gave her for her 70th birthday . It is currently parked at the bottom of the garden. “Here’s that gypsy car hidden among the geraniums and ferns,” she can be seen saying in the video. Alongside the stunningly decorated caravan, beds that are filled with vibrant plants and flowers can be observed.
In an appearance on Today Morning last this year the 75-year-old spoke about how she transformed the vacant area into the spectacular panorama it has now. She shared her and Neil the 67-year-old first purchased the property the land was just the tip of a place to keep old vehicles and trash.
“There was no gardening area,” she said. “There were a lot of old cars and an old shed, and I needed to go into the shed and remove all the old automobiles out.”
Today, the garden is now a lush green paradise that includes a wildflower meadow as well as a dazzling vegetable patch, as well as an assortment of trees, among them one gifted for the current owner by her deceased mother nearly 35 years ago. The garden is a beautiful place to be in.
In an interview with Radio Timesinterview, Carol stated that a lot plant species in her garden are rooted in “connections to other people and locations that tell some kind of tale”.
