Passengers on trains are being asked to double-check their tickets before they travel Monday, February 21st as remnants of Storm Franklin can cause chaos throughout the region.
The yellow weather warning for Nottinghamshire remains in effect. Wind gusts are expected to reach 53 mph this morning.
High winds caused flooding in parts of the county Sunday, following the recent storms Eunice & Dudley.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Railway stated that “Storm Franklin” would cause delays and cancellations in the EMR network’s commuters on Monday 21 February.
We strongly recommend that you check before you travel. If possible, you might postpone your trip to later in the afternoon or Tuesday 22 February.
Some people are not able to ride the tram because of the weather. The Queens Drive park/ride site will be closed today due to rising water levels. Commuters should consider the Racecourse park-and-ride as an alternative.
Flood warnings were also issued for certain areas along the Nottinghamshire border.

Trent Barton tweeted that flooding along A61 Alfreton Road, between Little Eaton Islands and Pektron Islands has meant that further stops are not possible.
These include Croft Lane and Tomlinsons Cottages. Haslams Lane. Alfreton Road. Chester Park. Coach & Horses. St Paul’s Church. Fox Street.
