Richard Keys , a pundit, says Morgan Gibbs White’s goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday should have been disallowed.
Forest scored all three goals, moving up to 18th place in the Premier League table before the World Cup. Gibbs White scored the winning goal. Although it was only Forest’s third win of the season, it was a significant one for confidence and momentum heading into the break.
Gibbs-White scored only the second goal of the season, and Forest got the rebound from a Brennan Johnson shot. After a long check, John Brooks awarded the goal.
According to the pundit, Keys should have shared the spoils with Gibbs White, despite the fact that they were not involved in the initial cross. The incident was discussed in his latest weekly column, which he posts on his website.
He wrote: “A quick note on VAR – Brighton should’ve had pen v Villa on March when Digne mis-timed an opportunity on March I’m tired asking how VAR can miss these things. We now know that the operators are not good enough.
“And Forest’s goal against Palace shouldn’t be allowed to stand. Gibbs-White was not on the same side as the original cross. “I didn’t need lines to see it.”
