Partick Thistle mascot Kingsley revealed his surprise candidacy for Glasgow’s Maryhill Ward by revealing an exclusive interview to the Record.
A colorful character has rocked Scotland’s political scene after declaring that he will run in council elections next month.
The brown-skinned actor might have been inspired by success of another outsider with a citrus complex during the American presidential election, has said he would advocate for the rights of football fans and the rights of mascots.
Kingsley who was revealed as the new mascot of Thistle in the past two years, has told that: “Glasgow is my home currently. It’s full of wonderful people whom I call my friends’. I’d like to give my efforts to making Glasgow an even better place.
“It’s also the home of the world’s best football team, Partick Thistle, so why shouldn’t I be able to represent all these amazing things?”
Kingsley has already secured the support of famous pals like actors David Hasselhoff and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
He made it clear that his top policies , which include “free pie” and Bovril” He added: “I’d also consider a vegan or vegetarian option, particularly considering how the Jags players have to remain healthy.
Also, I’d like to see a new entrance policy made available within the City Chambers, so every door has a Kingsley shape with sharp edges, so that I can be a part of the community.
“Finally I’d like to build an underwater wave machine in Clyde because I often miss surfing in California the state where I’m from.”
Rival Glasgow Mascots of Glasgow Hoopy The Huddle Hound as well as Broxi Bear weren’t available to comment.
Kingley’s agent for election Pilar Folo said they were certain of their success.
