Night Stalker ITV : The highly anticipated second season of Manhunt with Martin Clunes was shown this week, and ITV has begun going behind the show to examine the actual story that led to The Night Stalker.
Manhunt The Nightstalker was a dramatic adaptation of Operation Minstead, the investigation that led to the detention and conviction of a burglar and rapist Delroy Grant, who raped and targeted elderly victims for over 20 years.
On Thursday, September 30 the documentary of Susanna Reid will explore the truth of the matter in which she talks to senior officers involved in Operation Minstead.
The documentary, The Real Manhunt: It will be shown at 9pm on ITV at 9pm. The documentary follows Susanna as she tries to understand the details of the horrifying investigation.
Susanna will be talking with the actual Colin Sutton, who is played by Martin Clunes in the drama and whose diary that the drama is based upon and also the Deputy Superintendent Simon Morgan, played by Matt Bardock, and SAC Sue Akers.
Delroy Grant was successful in escaping and fooling the police for nearly 17 years, as he was believed of having committed more than 100 crimes.
The investigation required Detective Chief Inspector Sutton and his team for a 17-day stakeout to capture Grant and put an end to Operation Minstead.
The Real Manhunt: The Nighttime Stalker will be shown on Thursday, September 30, on ITV at 9pm.

IS THE NIGHT STALKER BASED ON A TRUE STORY?
Manhunt Night Stalker was inspired by the diary of the former Metropolitan Police detective, DCI Colin Sutton, and brings to life the terrifying real-life tale about Delroy Grant and his search to find him. Grant was convicted of rape and burglary over the course of 17 years. He left hundreds of elderly residents who frequent his area of south-east London living in the fear of being killed.
