Kate Garraway is facing a new emotional battle after it was revealed that the husband of her Derek Draper underwent an “serious procedure” for his kidneys in the course of his battle with COVID-19 for a long time.
It’s been reported that the GMB celebrity has also kept his fans informed of Derek’s health and has filled fans in on the treatments and hospitalizations that he’s under since he was diagnosed with serious illness in March of 2020 following contracting the illness.
However, in a new setback to the family, it’s been revealed that Derek who endured long-lasting injuries to important organs due to the effects of coronavirus has experienced another setback.
A former advisor to the political establishment, who was 54 is believed to have undergone an operation on his kidneys because they “suffered quite a lot of injuries” due to COVID-19. Kate rush to his bedside to provide assistance as reported by the Sun.
Doctors are also believed to have assured Kate that the operation is “routine” following a discussion of that there was “no other option but to perform the surgery”.
Although Kate hasn’t talked about Derek’s health concerns however she did post on Instagram this Friday, for the first time nearly one week to share a positive post to her fans.
Kate advised her fans to “escape the strikes on the tube and train” by tuning in to the ITV program, Garraway’s Good Stuff on Saturday and is joined on the show by Deliciously Ella and former Strictly star Melvin Odoom.
Derek’s health updates come shortly after Kate said she was spending “pretty nearly all my time in the hospital” when she gave an update on Derek at the Thursday’s GMB.
“I typically spend all my time in trains, or in hospitals together with Derek,”she said in a chat with the rail union boss Mick Lynch about strikes on the railway network.
Kate is only just returning back to GMBafter having taken three weeks off from work following Derek was taken into hospital and taken to intensive care for sepsis that could be life-threatening.
In his post-operation interview, Derek opened up about his setback, Kate revealed that Derek’s “kidneys were very badly blocked, infected, and now the goal is to get them back” This could explain his latest operation.
