Ciaran Dickson (20) allegedly attacked Aidan Pilkington (18) in Glasgow’s Jordanhill, in the early hours on September 11, 2021.
An ex-scots youth footballer was charged with causing the death a teenager.
Pilkinton was brought to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Ciaran Dickson, Erskine (Renfrewshire), is being charged with causing the death by dangerous driving, and four other charges.
They include refusing to give police information and trying to pervert justice.
Ciaran Dickson did not plead guilty when he appeared before the Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Dickson was released on bail. His next court date will be set.
Aidan’s devastated family released a heartbreaking statement at the time. They spoke out about their grief and explained how he planned to move to Dundee to attend university the next week.
They stated that “Aidan was treasured and well loved by his family and respected by his community.
“Aidan had left Hyndland Secondary School during the summer and was moving to Dundee next weekend to attend Dundee University.
“He made a bright future for his self and was looking forward to these challenges and opportunities.”
“The family would like to thank friends, in particular Aidan’s friends, and the wider community, for their love, support, and kindness.”
A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: “A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with this crash and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
