Karim The Benzema ended up as the Champions League top scorer in 2021-22. He scored 15 goals in the tournament as Real Madrid won their 14th European title.
Five of the goals were scored from the group stage which was a time when Madrid suffered slow starts, the rest of the goals coming at crucial times in the knockout phase.
He scored a hat-trick in the final during the game against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16th game, then followed it with four goals over two games against Chelsea with an hat-trick Stamford Bridge – in the quarter-final. The France striker also scored three goals over two matches in the semi-final against Manchester City in the semi-final.
Benzema was closely followed by Robert Lewandowski and Sebastien Haller with the two being the only two players who reached double figures in the contest.
