Chinese steel hubs implement output limits for the rest of 2021.
Tangshan, the city in Tangshan the world’s largest steel hub, is now cutting 30% in production that will continue through the remainder of this calendar year. Mysteel reports.
The cut-off program will run between July 2nd and December 31st. This will affect mills which don’t meet low emission standards.
China has announced that the the steel production at just under 1bn tons could be a new high water benchmark for an industry which is responsible for greater than 15 percent of its national emissions.

Canada accelerates sales of zero-emission vehicles goal
The Government of Canada announced it will set a target of all brand new, light duty vehicles and passenger trucks to be emission-free by 2035. This is accelerating the previously set goal of 2040.
This new objective is supported by existing measures to encourage the adoption of zero emission vehicles through incentives to help to cover the initial cost of zero-emission vehicles to the investment in zero emission charging infrastructure, and agreements with auto manufacturers that assist them in retooling and create zero-emission vehicles in Canada.
