High School DXD Season 5
Fans have been anticipating High School DXD season 5 for years, and recent rumours that it will be released in 2023 have only added to the excitement. Given the series’ popularity and cult-like following, this is to be expected.
TNK produced the anime, and the first season aired in 2012 on TV Tokyo’s satellite channel AT-X and other networks. Crunchyroll, Manga Entertainment, and Madman Entertainment were all granted rights to broadcast the anime in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia, respectively.
What is the plot of the anime series?
High School DXD is based on a series of light novels written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama Zero that first appeared in Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Magazine in September 2008. It has since grown in popularity, spawning 25 volumes and a sequel, Shin High School DxD.
The plot revolves around Issei Hyoudou, a Kuoh Academy high school student who wants to be a harem king but is killed by his first date, who turns out to be a fallen angel. Later, Rias Gremory, a red-haired devil princess, resurrects him as a devil to serve her and her family. Angels, fallen angels, and even devils are concerned about Issei’s relationship with Rias.
The anime adaptation’s fourth season, based on the series’ ninth and tenth volumes, covered the second part of The Heroic Oppai Dragon Arc. Because each season covers about two volumes of the light novel, High School DXD season 5 is expected to conclude the arc with volumes 11 and 12.

Unfortunately, there has been no word on the release date of High School DXD season 5, whether it is currently in development or when it is expected to be completed.
This could be due to a variety of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic and poor audience response to the previous two seasons. The studio may be unwilling to proceed with the production if a profit is not guaranteed. They may reconsider if demand increases.
There have been numerous rumours dating back to 2020, with each year predicting that the manga will be released soon. Fans have little choice but to wait for a credible update, if any, from Ichiei Ishibumi, Miyama Zero, the publisher, or the studio for the time being. Hopefully, the anime will not suffer the same fate as its manga counterpart, which was started but never finished by Hiroji Mishima.
