Made in Chelsea stars Sam Thompson and Zara Mcdermott have spoken out against engagement rumours that they’re not in a hurry to tie the knot.
In an interview with OK! magazine, the couple discussed speculation about a possible wedding in the magazine, with Zara admitting that they do not feel the need to be married immediately.
“We’re in a great situation. There’s no reason to hurry or make any changes, since I wouldn’t want to be with Sam in the event that I didn’t wish to be with him for the rest of my life,” she said.
“And when engagement occurs, it will happen. If it’s 5 or 6 months, then I am not worried. I truly believe that timing is the most important thing.”
Zara said: “Even if me and Sam split together and I fell in love with another person and then there were engagement rumors in no time. This has been happening for us for a long time.
“People would like to speed up your relationship, but you must remember what’s best for you.”
Sam also said that he was not in a hurry to be married and that all he had to be sure of was Zara would be willing to accept the proposal when the proposal came up.
The couple, who’ve been together since the beginning of 2019 and have experienced plenty of bumps and adversities while they were together. The couple had a widely-publicized break-up in the year 2020 following the saga of the scandal of cheating, the drama airing in the show The Made In Chelsea, before returning at the end of this year.
Zara quit appearing on the reality show for 2021. She resigned from the show, stating that reality television proved to be “hard to the heart”.
Sam was the first to appear on the show in 2013 along with the show’s sister Louise Thompson, is but a huge as a part of cast of the MIC team.
