Khabib Nurmagomedov will be taking on Justin Gaethje for his lightweight title at UFC 254 — but when does it start in the UK?
Khabib Nurmagomedov will face Justin Gaethje in the main event at UFC 254 on Fight Island. The Russian champion Abdulmanap, who died earlier in the year, will be a part of this emotional evening.
The 57-year old died of COVID-19 complications. He was instrumental in his son’s climb to the top of the sport. He holds a 28-0 unbeaten record.
“Who knows what I’m going be like, or how I’ll feel in the cage?” ESPN’s Nurmagomedov said that nobody knows.
“Physically, it’s great. Mentally, I feel great.
“But this is the first time that I’m going into a difficult situation when I go cage. “No one knows.”
Nurmagomedov anticipates an “interesting fight” at UFC 254.
One of his strategies in the fight will be to neutralise Gaethje’s kicks.
“Very good kicks. Nurmagomedov said that he has very good kicks.
They all look great when they stand straight up. It changes a bit when I grab them.
“He knows how to wrestle better than Dustin (Poirier) and Conor (McGregor), I think. He’ll be a bit tough.
“But I’m prepared to try to take his down 100 times. It will be very interesting Saturday night.”
When does Khabib vs Gaethje in the UK start?
UFC 254’s preliminary fight will begin at 5pm in the UK. The main card is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
Khabib and Gaethje will be expected to be at the octagon by 9.45pm.
This time may vary depending on the outcome of the fight.
