The Jungle Book 2 : Before The Jungle Book was launched, Disney were so confident in the film that they announced that they were working on another sequel.
They had the right idea to be certain as Jon Favreau’s live action adaptation of Disney’s classic Disney animation that was based on Rudyard Kipling’s novel with the same title was well-received by critics and earned $966.6 million in box-office revenue.
It’s not likely to be a live-action version from the animation sequel so what are we to be expecting of The Jungle Book 2?

Initially, Favreau intended to work on the sequel to The Lion King was released, and it was believed that the film might be released in the year 2018.
However, this did not happen, because Favreau chose to focus on completing The Lion King and not be working on two projects in succession. The Lion King will be available in theaters on the 19th of July The Lion King is scheduled to release on July 19th, which means Favreau might technically begin working for The Jungle Book 2 in the coming months.
As he stated to in an interview with Collider on December of 2016 the photorealistic CGI employed in the film is an “slow process”.
“Rushing it is not a good idea because when people react to visual effects they don’t like, often times it’s because it’s rushed.”
Even if he does start working on the project this year, don’t be expecting to see it until 2020. It’s good news that Disney has several release dates scheduled to release “Live Action” movies in 2021 and beyond, which it could be a part of.
The Jungle Book 2 cast: Who’s returning?
There won’t be any official confirmation on the casting of the sequel until Favreau begins to work on it, however Neel Sethi is likely to return playing Mowgli… for as long as he doesn’t grow to the point of becoming too big.
The voice actors will largely remain the same for as long as the characters are still on the air, so it is Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa.
