The Conjuring 4 : This movie is acknowledged through Warner Bros, but we do not yet have any official dates for release.
We’ll be back in The Conjuring universe next year though Filming is currently underway for The Nun 2, the sequel to the prequel that tells the story of The Nun, the demonic witch Valak in The Conjuring 2.
If we are talking about a fourth movie for the Warrens We may not know a date for release however we do have a few details. James Wan and Peter Safran are producing again, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be writing the film.
Johnson-McGoldrick composed both The Conjuring 2, as well as 3 The Conjuring 3 film is in good hands.
In the meantime, as we await new information on The Conjuring 4, Here’s all you must know as well as possible cases from the real world to investigate.
The Conjuring 4 release date: When could we expect The Conjuring 4?
As mentioned above, The Conjuring 4 has been confirmed, but we don’t yet have a confirmed release date.
There was a three-year gap between The Conjuring (July 2013) and The Conjuring 2 (June 2016), and then a five-year gap to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. However, originally, that would have been four years as it was initially set for a September 2020 release.
The Nun 2 is coming on September 8, 2023 so the earliest we could expect a fourth movie is probably mid-to-late 2024.
The Conjuring 4 cast: Who’s coming back for The Conjuring 4?
It’s not been confirmed, but we’d be amazed if Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga weren’t back as Ed and Lorraine Warren as it’s not a Conjuring movie without them.
Fortunately, they seem up for more outings so it won’t be a case of persuading them to return.
“Oh my God, I’d love to [continue],” Farmiga said, with Wilson adding: “We constantly want to push these characters. I would like to – for no other reason than I would want to keep playing opposite Vera.”
Farmiga also teased in April 2021 that there’s “definitely some talk of continuing”, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens there.
Other returns are harder to predict, especially since the third movie didn’t feature many crossovers from the wider Conjuring universe.
Sterling Jerins reprised her role as Judy Warren, while there were also return appearances for Steve Coulter as Father Gordon and Shannon Kook as Drew Thomas. All of them could be back in the fourth movie, but that’s probably it for comebacks.
As in the other Conjuring movies, a fourth outing would cover an entirely new case which means a largely new cast, outside of the main characters.
