Spider-Man spin-off Morbius is getting some criticism over at Rotten Tomatoes.
The film is currently playing in UK cinemas Jared Leto’s “The Living Vampire’ story of origin is currently sitting on an average of 20 percent after reviews were written by critics who declared it rotten or worse.
The initial reactions of the fans to the film were not exactly glowing However, as you’ll see below, the overall view is that this movie was disappointing despite a few glimpses of potential.
“The choice to present his vampire aspect to life with only digital VFX results in it appearing fake and unlikable. It’s like Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s vampires in style, which is a part of the whole 90s vibe.
“Perhaps the most frustrating thing about Morbiusis its fact it is insignificant. It’s sole purpose is to introduce this character within the Sony Spider-Man world and leaves viewers without a reason to see any future episodes.”

The Times
“The filmic version of Murphy’s law is illustrated by this pathetic superhero sleeper. The film is devoid of drama jeopardy, originality coherent narrative, captivating characters, or even a single slightly human-like performance. “
The AV Club
“If it’s not as if he’s winging the same way as Tom Hardy is in the Venom franchise, Leto thankfully doesn’t seem to be taking himself too seriously in order to stop some enjoyment from creeping into the movie. The story of his character is far too clear unpredictably predictable and incredibly impatient in its final moments for the audience to be concerned about whether the superhero emerges or succumbs to the disease.”
The Hollywood Reporter
“After an impressive start, Daniel Espinosa’s long-delayed film only occasionally matches the intensity of the main performance and the script written composed by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless lacks a narrative and jumbles up chaos and violent clashes that culminate in a gruellingly planned’sibling’ battle. “
The Independent
“It cannot be described as an uncontrollable, wild catastrophe that many were in secretly hoping for, since it would be a sign of risk to the creative. This is not the flavorless result of too many board meetings in which anything proposed by the director Daniel Espinosa has been whittled to the point of pure “content”.
