The next Triller Fight Club event will feature a few veteran boxers. Sergey Kovalev will face Tervel Pulev at The Forum in Los Angeles on May 14.
Kovalev is a two-time World Military Championships who started boxing when he was 11. In 2009, Kovalev turned professional and won the WBO light heavyweight title. In 2013, “Krusher” was awarded the WBA and IBF light heavyweight titles by Bernard Hopkins. In 2016, he lost his titles to Andre Ward and lost the rematch one year later. Kovalev won WBO title, but was defeated by Eleider Alvarez.
Sergey lost the title to Canelo Alvarez in 2019, after he gained the belt. This was his last professional bout.
Pulev, a bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympic games was made pro in 2016. In 2019, he won the WBA International Cruiserweight title. Pulev, after a long absence, returned to the ring in January 2021 and defeated Vikapita Meroro via TKO.
Tervel, the brother of Kubrat Plev, will face Kerry Forrest in co-main event.
