Prison Break season 6: What’s happening?
Prison Break season 6 : In January of 2018, FOX officially confirmed that they were ” developing a new version” in Prison Break. “It’s at the very beginning of development” stated entertainment director Michael Thorn. “But we’re extremely thrilled about the project.”
Miller himself has indicated an desire to revisit his character in the proper conditions: “There’s always room for more, in my view. So long as there’s a compelling story worthy of telling, as long as it’s believable and fun and exciting.
“It must be something that doesn’t disappoint the fans and that will satisfy and delight. I’m up for discussion.”
However, when the initial excitement over that reboot – – sorry “reiteration”) – dissipated and the reboot began to stall, things began heading towards trouble pretty quickly.
Creator Paul Scheuring left the project and stated that in spite of “desire… by the fans… along with a handful members of the cast” Scheuring “couldn’t share a different story about this particular group of people”.
“Maybe someone else will,” he added. “Or accidentally, I’ll come up with an escape plan for prison that is new and exciting, but I’d rather not bet on it.”
The latest version of the show was initially endorsed by FOX CEO Dana Walden, however his successor was far less enthusiastic.
After the merger of the network to Disney in February The newly appointed Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier stated: “There’s no plan right this moment of reviving Prison Break or any other franchise however, when the creators have a story they feel is the right moment to tell, we’re eager to hear it because there are some franchises for which I’m satisfied and am so grateful to be part of our stable.
By the end of August the plot were completely deadlocked in those in the Prison Break writers in the room releasing an announcement that read: “Nothing is ever to be said about the future of Prison Break (remember the time Sara was slain? ) However, for the moment the season six that was promised isn’t in the cards.”
However, in 2020 the the actor Dominic Purcell (who plays Lincoln on the show) spoke out about his expectations for a sixth season explaining that his experience with the coronavirus pandemic created an “steely resolve” for him to see it created.
“We are all on the same page that if the idea is worth telling, it will get done,” he said.
“I’m extremely optimistic about the hashtag #socialdistancing, and a fervent respect for the opinions of experts regarding how to defeat this apocalyptic, unprecedented and devastating event. we’ll all triumph over the #coronavirus virus – organizations like Netflix are looking for content,” he continued.
Purcell continued with a second Instagram post ( since deleted) which further fuelled the Prison Break controversy: “Will season pb 6 occur. Yes…..”
Prison Break Season 6 cast : Who will play?
“If there is a good storyline that happens to come through, I am sure the cast will be back to continue the adventure,” said Vaun Wilmott in a statement that suggested that any main character who is alive after the conclusion of the most recent mini-series might return.
We’re aware that it’s unlikely we’ll ever see Miller once more However, there are several other top performers who could be in the mix, including:
- Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows)
- Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note)
- Robert Knepper (T-Bag)
- Amaury Nolasco (Sucre)
- Inbar Lavi (Sheba)
Sarah Wayne Callies could also be back as Sara Tancredi-Scofield.
Mike Jr would be part of any new version as would the character who is a regular Ja (Rick Yune) could also be an option.
Series original Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) was spectacularly killed off in the latest episodes, but that hasn’t stopped Adelstein from hinting that the hitman-turned-politician could still resurface in season six.
“I do not see it as his last track,” he said. “I think it’s Prison Break. Seriously How do you be sure if you need to be able to trust what you see?”
It’s not a mistake He’s not wrong – after all the two of them, Michael as well as Sara have returned from death It’s possible to do anything.
However, that doesn’t mean that the character can disappear at any time.
One character that was not in this reboot was the former Special Agent Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) But could he be some part in the next season?
“Paul is a fan of Bill Fichtner and I love Bill Fichtner,” Robert Knepper stated at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con. “He’s an amazing actor however, Paul was honest with me and said”I don’t know how to do with this role’.
“He was not looking to bring everyone back to make the audience say, ‘Oh, wait a minute that’s Bill Fichtner” He thought to himself”I’m not sure what to do with that in the plot’, so when he comes across another chapter of this, perhaps Bill will return.”
Scheuring himself tweeted the following tweet ” somewhere between 50 and 150 percent possibility” the Mahone will return in season 6… So, keep your fingers crossed!
Scheuring wasn’t able to find much space for the fan-favorite character Fernando Sucre in the new series either. He was a key character in only one of nine episodes. However, that could alter in the future.
