Paul Pogba sent his “big thank you” to supporters for their support when he shared an update about his mental health following his brother’s accusations of him.
In a baffling and shocking video posted on social media in the latter part of the month of August Mathias Pogba vowed to reveal “explosive” revelations about his brother. Former Wrexham, Crew and Crawley forward, who is 32 claimed to have secrets regarding Juventus midfielder Pogba 29 years old and his new agent as well as France player Kylian Mbappe.
In response, Pogba’s mom and lawyer issued an open letter claiming Mathias was part of an group that aims to for extortion against his World Cup winner. They also said there were “relevant authorities” in France and Italy had been aware of the situation and there was the possibility of an “ongoing investigation”.
French police have announced that they have initiated an investigation in the case of Mathias and the suspected “group-organised” crime. As if this probe was not enough for Pogba this ex- Manchester United ace is disabled until the World Cup in Qatar this winter following surgery on his knee.
“Pogba trained for the second time but then stopped, and it was then decided that he undergo surgery,” Juve director Massimiliano Allegri told reporters. “The World Cup is not my problem, Juventus’ problem is that he comes back in January.”
Despite the chaos happening, Pogba was in good spirits when he posted an encouraging message to his supporters through the Twitter account in the afternoon of Tuesday. The message read: “Hi all, hope you’re all doing well. I’m okay, thank you God that the operation went extremely well. We’ll be recovering and will be back soon. I’d like to say thank you for all of your messages, and for your help regardless of the injury or other issues, mentally I’m fine.
“Keep your head up. I’m not alone, I’m with God. Anyway, big thank you to all for your messages, for your support, all the messages I’ve seen on social media. We’ll be back bigger soon, I hope. And I send a greeting, a hug, always smiling. We thank God, see you soon.”
In a follow-up video to the original footage, Mathias Pogba alleged his brother had contacted an expert witch doctor to cast an ominous spell over Paris Saint-Germain superstar Mbappe, with whom he took the World Cup in 2018. The elder brother said this was among a myriad of facts that could alter the impression of Mbappe as one of the best players of his time.
But, Mbappe sided with his international teammate in unambiguous manner when asked about the allegations made on Monday. He told Pogba: “It is his word against the word of his brother, I am going to believe my teammate. It’s not a time to put more onto him. I’m pretty detached from it all.”
