In the final episode of the sixth season, Claire found herself in grave danger, along with other family members that included Jamie, Young Ian, Bree, Roger, Fergus and Marsali scattered all over the world.
So , what’s the story what’s going to happen Outlander seventh season? Here’s everything you should be aware of.
Outlander season 7 release date: What date will it due to be released?
There was a massive 21-month drought in between the seasons of five and six (thanks for the pandemic, nothing!) the fans shouldn’t have to wait as long to see season seven.
A post shared on Outlander’s official Twitter and Facebook pages on April 20, 2022, showed the main actors Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin returning to the Scotland stage at the beginning of the film’s production.
Yes, Outlander boss Maril Davis has confirmed, in an interview exclusively with Digital Spy, that they’d begun filming on season 7 in the month of May 2022. However, she was not forthcoming about when the show would be on the screens of viewers, Davis noted that they were following “a fairly typical schedule” but also noted that this is set to be an “supersized season”.
We had previously reported of the fact that Outlander’s seventy-seventh season will expected to be twice as long as season six, which is the rate of 16 seasons long.
In the interview Digital Spy for season six, Balfe said that they will be filming season seven in 13 consecutive months that would bring us until at least May 2023.
We’d anticipate to see the first episodes shortly after that. We’re anticipating the end of 2023 at earlier date.
Naturally, as soon as we find out more, you’ll be informed!
Outlander Season 7 cast Who will be in it?
Season seven will concentrate on stories from Diana Gabaldon’s books 6 and 7 from The Outlander series the books ‘ A Breath of Snow and Ashes and The echo in the Bone’.
The books will feature all of the main characters, so the following actors will be returning:
- Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser)
- Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser)
- Richard Rankin (Roger Mackenzie)
- Sophie Skelton (Brianna Mackenzie)
We’d also hope to see some fan-favourites return, such as:
- John Bell (Young Ian)
- Lauren Lyle (Marsali)
- Cesar Domboy (Fergus)
- Caitlin O’Ryan (Lizzie)
- David Berry (Lord John)
In addition, as the new season is expected to finish off cliffhangers that were left at the conclusion of season six, actors who are newer to the show could come back to carry on their storylines as characters, which includes:
- Alexander Vlahos (Allan Christie)
- Mark Lewis Jones (Tom Christie)
- Brennan Martin (Wendigo Donner)
- Chris Larkin (Richard Brown)
- Paul Gorman (Josiah and Keziah Beardsley)
We have learned that one of the characters from season three is set to make an appearance in the coming season however, the role was recast.
Jenny Murray was played by actress Laura Donnelly in the earlier seasons, but it’s now been revealed the casting of Kristin Atherton (known for her roles on Waterloo Road and Doctors) will take on the shoes of Laura Donnelly in the future.
Scheduling conflicts are cited as the reason behind the absence of Donnelly. Not only does she appear on The Nevers, she was also featured in the Halloween special of Marvel “Werewolf By Night” and could have more involvement with the MCU.
Other characters who were confirmed as being in coming season are Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek), Brian Fraser (Andrew Whipp), Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish), Ian Murray (Steven Cree), Joan MacKimmie (Layla Burns) and Laoghaire Fraser (Nell Hudson).
You might have noticed that certain characters have been killed off in the show. The show’s director Matthew B Roberts has teased the way this could happen (via TVLine) and explained: “One of the many joys of our epic story is the element of time travel which allows us to revisit some of our favourite characters in different times and places, and we’re thrilled to welcome back so many familiar faces for season seven.”
However, it’s not only about the older faces. There’s a plethora of new actors, like Loria Obianyo ( Dune) as Mercy Woodcock, Rod Hallett ( The Last Kingdom) as Benedict Arnold, and Chris Fulton ( Bridgerton) as Rob Cameron.
