However, an extremely impressive debut for Ocean’s 8 almost assured it would get a follow-up film, especially considering the budget of only $70 million.
The film had its sticky fingers on the sum of $42 million in the US in its first weekend, and took in $116 million globally over just the initial 10 days. This is more than two-thirds of that’s the Cartier necklace that the group of super-thieves attempts to rob within Ocean’s Eight. A decent haul.
The franchise’s past history of the addition of the team with each film, and then increasing the number of titles by one ( Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen) Who can we anticipate to see adding their name to the poster for the sequel?

The spin-off of the Ocean’s trilogy features Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean she is who is the younger sister of Danny (George Clooney) from the original series. In the same way that Danny had a top group of men to assist in his heists Bullock has a stellar group of women in order to steal the legendary diamond jewelry from the prestigious Met Gala.
Ocean’s 8. also includes Cate Blanchett (Lou), Helena Bonham Carter (Rose Weil), Anne Hathaway (Daphne Kluger), Rihanna (Nine Ball), Mindy Kaling (Amita), Nora “Awkwafina” Lum (Constance) and Sarah Paulson (Tammy). We’d certainly like Bullock and the other cast members to appear to the sequel.
If the franchise is counted up and we can see the possibility of Ocean’s Nine (more about that below). …), who is a possible addition to this impressive cast?
Elizabeth Banks was reportedly attached to Ocean’s 8 but she was unable to negotiate an agreement to sign a contract with Warner Bros. Perhaps a sequel could lead to discussions renewed? Dakota Fanning actually appears in Ocean’s 8 as Penelope Stern, a rival to Hathaway’s Kluger actress and would therefore make sense from the perspective of continuity.
“It could be someone older than us, it could be a little youngster,” Paulson suggested, but Kaling suggested our favorite idea: ” RuPaul might be interesting.” Paulson acknowledged that: “RuPaul could be good.”
In the twist, the film did need to depend on one male actor from the earlier Ocean’s films, so perhaps it’s time to bring in one with the gymnastic or stunt abilities? With her appearance in Kingsman the Secret Service (and to lesser degree Star Trek Beyond and Atomic Blonde) We’d like to be able to see Sofia Boutella join the team in this capacity.

There’s been no news about sequels since the release of Ocean’s 8, so we’ll be waiting to wait to see what happens if Warner Bros makes a move to release a sequel.
