MrBeast Chocolate Bars : Jimmy Donaldson, the stunt YouTuber whose name is MrBeast posted an unorthodox request to his followers on Friday, prompting a backlash and inspiring memes.
“I require your assistance! When you next visit Feastables at Walmart (and coming soon, other retailers) If you could tidy up the appearance and make it appear better it would make me extremely happy,” Donaldson tweeted. “I’m creating a team to perform this on a regular basis, but need assistance for the moment.”
Donaldson created Feastables the company for snacks which makes chocolate bars as well as cookies as well as other sweets, in the year 2000. The items are sold at Walmart.
It was reported that the Feastables Twitter account announced that customers who wash the Walmart display can participate in the contest to win a prize of $5,000. Participants are required to submit before and after “shelfies” from the displays in order to be eligible as a prize for the month of March, according to the Feastables website.
Donaldson who became the most followed YouTuber in November, received mixed reaction on his post. While some users shared pictures of themselves taking part at the competition, other seemed more agitated by the question. Some criticised the fan for asking them to do work for no compensation.
“It’s amazing to observe the stage of capitalism in which people are privileged to perform the work of a rich person who do not care since they feel a sense of loyalty and connection, as a dog would want treats, but the treat is a fantasy feeling of being connected,” a Twitter user commented.
“God If you had 14,000,000, I’d be awestruck dollars every time a rich man requested poor people to perform work for free, …” another person said.
Donaldson’s tweet also inspired a variety of memes. People made fun of following Donaldson’s instructions, and then being disqualified for their actions or even holding Feastables chocolate bars to pay ransom.
Some fans were thrilled to fulfill Donaldson’s request. They responded to his tweet with photos of them tidying up Feastables exhibits.
