QPR have announced Neil Crichtley as successor to Michael Beale – as chairman Amit Bhatia delivers a sly letter to Rangers manager.
He was a former Aston Villa assistant replaced the Ibrox gaffer in Birmingham during the reign of Steven Gerrard and is now back in the spotlight in the very first instance after the departure of Blackpool. QPR were beaten 3-0 by Burnley in Championship game on Sunday in their first match since Beale decided to return to Rangers and then left to take over the Villans second job in the month of November 2021 following his time being the Light Blues assistant manager.
He was appointed manager by the London club in the summer of 2012 and their chairman has given an apparent reference to an exile that caused fans of his team to be in a state of anger. Bhatia stated: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Neil back to our club. Following the sudden disappearance from Mick Beale it was important to make a quick appointment, and that we took the appropriate steps to ensure that it was the right appointment.
“In the announcement of Neil today, we’ve done this. We’ve made a great beginning to our season just as Mick was able to build on the solid achievements of his former coach Mark Warburton, we wanted someone we were certain would be able to continue the progress of the club.
“We were also keen to ensure that we chose a person who shares the philosophy of football that we have at our club. With Neil and his team , we are also confident that we have succeeded in that.
“I’m looking forward to Neil to begin his journey immediately and wish him all the best of success.”
