Lottie Lion is reportedly targeted by a slew of backlash when she criticized the “toxic” behaviour and ‘toxic’ behavior of Love Island contestant Hugo Hammond. She claimed that Hammond, a ex- PE teacher, who was 25, who was a contestant in the series last year as a contestant, of “screaming” in her face when she turned down his advances during the night out.
It is reported that the North Devon TV actress 22-year-old claims that she was invited to an evening out in Bristol where they had a drink and ‘a little of a dance’ but things then turned. Lion is an ex-bibliothecist who appeared in the 2019 BBC show when she was just 19 claims Hugo attempted to kiss her twice at an evening club and then claimed she wasted his time throughout the evening’ when she repelled him.
Lottie has made a post on TikTok to clarify why she made public her story following backlash. In a two-minute video she wrote: “Since discussing my experience with Hugo Hammond on TikTok I have received a significant amount of abuse from people who want me to think about the mental state of his character.
“While I would never want to be responsible for somebody’s poor state of mind, women can not be expected to suffer in silence at the risk that the person we’re calling out is going to be upset or embarrassed.”
The accusation was made after Hugo was adamant about denying ‘inappropriate touching’ accusations made by his fellow season seven co-star Sharon Gaffka. She claims that this was the reason she made the announcement – due to the fact that Sharon was being “questioned” on her allegations by the general public.
Hugo Hammond has denied all claims of inappropriate touching that were made by Sharon Gaffka in a written statement he made on Friday, via his TikTok account which has been removed and has branded her remarks “outrageous and simply false”.
“In backing her up, I hoped that people would realize this wasn’t an isolated incident. Additionally I’ve also considered the possibility that if he’s doing the way he’s been acting toward me and her, and we’ve the capability to confront him with an enormous audience What is his behaviour toward university students whom seem to be his target?”
She has also revealed screen shots of her conversations with several women that have been accusing Hammond of displaying inappropriate behavior. She decided to make public the conversations after Hammond publicly denied her allegations, including one woman alleging that she was “pushed” her friend to the floor in an evening club.
Responding to an TikTok user’s remarks, Lottie said she had received “50+ messages of pure hatred” after she posted her video in which she accused Hugo of “screaming in her face”.
There was a report by the Sun that Hugo Hammond would be taking off of social media for the next week. He also recently broke up with his partner Team GB athlete Molly Wilkins according to the Sun.
“Molly started getting messages from random girls saying they’d kissed Hugo on a night out or slept with him,” an insider informed the Sun.
“She broke her relationship with him, and the breakup is over even though he’s begging her to return. She’s angry and feels that the man lied to her. She found out through the comments on an TikTok footage that Hugo was dating and kissing other girls behind her behind.
