Joe Worrall : The boss Steve Cooper will hope valuable time spent on the training field will pay off as Nottingham Forest return to action on Monday.
The two-week international break given the Reds head coach an opportunity to get his players working in their efforts to improve on a difficult beginning in the new season. The Reds will travel towards Leicester City aiming to arrest the streak of four losses on the bounce.
Forest have been busy in preparation of the match. With the club sharing images and videos from their training on their Official website as well as on social media pages and YouTube We’ve compiled the most important lessons learned.
Injuries boost
The striker Emmanuel Dennis pulled out of the Nigeria national team this week after being selected as a replacement for Henry Onyekuru of Demirspor’s. However, there’s hope that he’s not suffered any injuries that is too serious.
Dennis was seen posing with his teammates, which is an encouraging sign prior to the game against the Foxes. A defender Omar Richards also appears to have made a major step to recover from his hairline injury to his leg, as seen on grass.
The Reds have remain, however, with doubts about Morgan Gibbs-White as well as Scott McKenna, who also have withdrawn from international duty. Moussa Niakhate was on the squad for Senegal and came back to his club in the early hours after the match, while Orel Mangala was suffering an injury in the lead-up to the Fulham match after being ruled out with an injury to his hamstring.
Team spirit
Team unity was an essential factor in Forest’s success last season. However, while the new Forest team might still be struggling to meet one another, the spirit in the background appears to be positive.
The club shared a video featuring Jesse Lingard, Ryan Yates and Harry Toffolo celebrating a training ground win. Lingard lifted his arms in front of the camera and yelled: “What a win today Whites! Hey! I, Yates and Toff, you know what I’m referring to? They are winners.” He was a former Manchester United man then got an embrace by midfielder Yates.
A lot of hard work has been completed in the last two weeks. However, the mood seems to be positive as well, with smiles and laughter – even Cooper. Cooper.
Worrall’s directions
Captain Joe Worrall has always been well-known for his leadership abilities. These qualities were evidently visible in the Forest video footage.
The defender is seen directing his team members and giving them instructions. He’s also not wearing the mask which he was wearing the last week, after sustaining one blow to the face during the previous game.
Worrall is hoping to be able to catch Cooper’s attention in the past two weeks and performed enough to earn his spot back. Worrall was not part from the start XI in the match against the Cottagers however he did his part in his appearance in the last 30 minutes.
