Sydney Sweeney playing cassie from Euphoria character, She wears her heart on her sleeve quite frequently during Sam Levinson’s edgy HBO program.
In a recent interview for Deadline, Sweeney has admitted to the challenges of playing an emotionally charged character, and how she connects to a character like Cassie. Sweeney said to Deadlinethat she frequently is trying to find characters she does not “connect to in any way” to test her own self-esteem, Cassie is actually an exception to the rule.
“I always try to challenge myself to enhance my skills. Cassie I consider her one of the characters with the greatest resemblance to me because I seek affection from others in order to feel accepted, as am afraid of being lonely. I was a teenager also, and I can definitely identify with her, however the majority of my characters I strive to be completely distinct from” Sweeney said.
But the character of Cassie is surely a tiring character for any actress because of the emotions she shows in every scene and the drama of the show. So so far in the two episodes, Cassie has had an emotional and messy relationship and Nate (Jacob Elordi) and has experienced traumatic events within her friendship with her ex-boyfriend Chris (Algee Smith) and even had an abortion, attempts to destroy her sister’s stage and was beat to death with Maddy (Alexa Maddy).
Despite the ferocity of these stories and the subsequent ferocity of filming these episodes, but Sweeney has claimed that she isn’t finding it difficult to distinguish her from Cassie. She plays in the TV show “The White Lotus opposite Connie Britton, did elaborate about how Cassie is a teacher to her and taught her a few lessons about herself.
“I believe that she has taught me how to let go of any fears I might have. Also, she has taught me to allow myself to be engulfed in her feelings,” Sweeney said.
“It’s been a truly wonderful opportunity be able to express all of her crazy, erratic emotions she’s had to face. It’s been a lot of fun.”
In the course of her performance on the second season of Euphoria, Sweeney received an Emmy nomination for this season for the top actor supporting in a television drama. This was just among two awards she was awarded in this years Emmys. The other one was for the movie the White Lotus, for which she was nominated as the best acting support in a short television series or anthology.
Sweeney will also star in the highly expected Madame Web movie that is among the coming Sony Spider-Man Universe films. Sweeney will play Julia Carpenter.
