Say farewell to Wordle. The wordle is getting a makeove , well-known word game with a Canadian twist. It’s called Canuckle. It was created by one of the residents of Ottawa.
“Every word at the end will be related to Canada in some way, and it will have some sort of theme that can be tied back to Canada,” says creator Mark Rogers.
Rogers was only looking to make something for his family to enjoy. However, since its release in February, the game has been played by 102.4 million people.
“My kids had been doing some of the Wordle puzzles, and there were some tricky words like knoll and proxy,” Rogers adds. “So I thought it’d be fun to have some words that were a little more common, but were still related to Canada.”
Wordle is a free online game in which players have six chances to guess the correct five-letter word. Canuckle may be more enjoyable to play if you understand what a “Hoser” is, or if you play in the “Igloo” – you get the idea.
Roger’s aunt, Brenda Neale Brenda Neale, Roger’s auntie, is a Canuck all the time.
“I love the game because it’s Canadian first and foremost,” Neale says. “I like how you have to think about Canadian things. And he has some great Canadian words – sorry, loons, syrup, maple.”
Rogers acknowledges that it was his brother who came up with the name, but it wasn’t always easy.
“He suggested the name Moosele, and I suggested Beaverdle. Another was Wordle-Eh “Rogers claims. “And then he said Canuckle, and it just stuck.”
Canuckle is becoming increasingly popular. 80,000 people played this Canadian word game today alone. Despite its popularity, the game’s creator has stated that it will not last forever.
“We actually decided to go all the way to Canada Day,” Rogers says. “So the final say will be on July 1. So we’ve got a lot of words up our sleeves until July 1.”
Canadians appear to take word games seriously.
“Aboot was one of the words we ran in the past, so it’s not a spoiler,” Rogers says. Rogers. “And we received numerous emails stating that this is not an official word and is not in the dictionary. But that’s what makes Canuckle so great: there are some Canadianisms. It’s a little different because it’s not officially Worldle. However, there are some fun words for Canada, and we’re trying to think outside the box. So we had a good time with it.”
Canuckle – A Daily Canadian Word Game – How To Play?
Canuckle is a word-guessing online game created specifically for Canadian citizens. To win the game, players must guess five-letter words related to Canada in six attempts. Canuckle is similar to other wordle games, but it has the added benefit of all words being associated with Canada and not being themed for adults.
The game uses three different colours: red, yellow, and grey. The red colour indicates that it is in the correct location and should not be moved.
