Update: Attack on Titan season 5 is returning for a 3rd — and perhaps final — series of shows in 2023, following the conclusion the fourth season, second part. The announcement was made the 3rd of April, 2022. This was the same day Episode 87 premiered on the air worldwide. The following is the original story that was published two days prior on April 1, 2022.
The Attack at Titan viewers have been on a thrilling journey in the last decade. Since the show’s first episode first premiered around ten years ago, on April 7 2013 viewers have had to endure long gap between seasons, and the studio’s major shift for the final season, run.
The experience of being an Attack on Titan fan is almost nearly as painful as what the characters face in the show. We are finally looking forward to seeing the story’s epic conclusion in its own way… Are we?
From all indications the episode 87, which is titled “The Dawn of Humanity” is expected to be the show’s finale. The original date was March 27 The finale was moved up to April 3, so that fans have still waiting to see how this story ends on screen. This has left some viewers in doubt about whether the story can actually conclude in any way.
The official synopsis provided by Crunchyroll certainly sounds like a sort of ending: “Eren looks back on what has brought him to this moment, while his friends race to stop the rumbling”.
The fact that season 4 has officially been named”the “Final Season”, all indicators point to an end. Informally, at the very least.
Fans who are familiar with the original source material are sceptical that there is a stories to tell after episode 87. That’s because there are a lot of stories to be told.
The final episode was an adaptation of the manga’s 129th chapter however, the manga as a complete has 139 chapters. Since each episode generally covered between 1 and 2 chapters in the manga, it’s extremely unlikely that the final episode will take on this much territory in only one episode.
There’s a possibility there is a chance that Attack in Titan may end up slicing through huge portions of the original material or, even worse, compress the entire thing into a horribly boring slideshow. If you’ve were able to endure the Promised Neverland finale, you’re aware of what we’re talking about.
The fans of anime who would prefer to be devoured by a titan rather than suffer the same fate again, are fortunate. In the interview in Newtypemagazine that was transliterated to English through Anime News Network The Attack on Titanproducers promised viewers that Hajime Isayama’s tale will get the proper ending.
In that conversation, Kensuke Tateishi, Toshihiro Maeda, and Tetsuya Kinoshita said they would adapt the manga right until the end rather than cutting the manga short.
So what’s happening? What’s the reason to end Attack in Titan this moment? The majority of fans agrees that episode 87 will not be the final episode at all. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t the last season, either. The fact that Part Two is coming to the end of its run doesn’t mean there isn’t a Part Three isn’t waiting in the waiting in the wings. If not, or the possibility of an additional season 4 A full-length movie could wrap up the series.
An upcoming Attack on Titan movie does seem possible, especially given that other anime series such as Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen have been slayed in the cinemas of the world. These are record-breaking numbers here especially in Japan and Japan, so think about the potential success the next Attack on Titan film might be, especially should it turn into the last chapter.
