Amber Gibson case : A man is charged with sexually assaulting and killing his teenage sibling. Connor Gibson allegedly killed Amber Niven 16, who was killed in Cadzow Glen in Hamilton, Lanarkshire on the 26th of November.
Prosecutors say the 20-year-old removed Amber’s clothes , and then repeatedly caused blunt force trauma to her body and head. Gibson is also known by the name Niven was later alleged that he strangled the teen by his hands.
The police claim that he did this with the intent of raping Amber and then kill his mother. Gibson is also accused of trying to thwart the purposes of justice, and trying to derail the process of justice.
It also includes claims that he got rid of clothing he’d worn and visited the child’s home Amber was living at to make it appear as if she was still alive. Gibson is also believed that he told the police that he was last seen with his sister when she left an argument close to the community centre situated in Hamilton that day. murder.
Stephen Corrigan, 44, is one of the co-accused in Gibson. Corrigan does not have to face the murder accusation however, he is accused of breaking the peace and attempts to thwart the purposes of justice. The story goes that Corrigan found Amber’s body however, rather than alerting the police, he handled her, and then concealed her body in the branches and bushes.
The charges are dated between November 26 and 28 , 2021. The case is scheduled for hearing in the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday. Gibson’s KC Tony Graham said: “He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. I believe that the trial will last for about 10 days. I’m ready for a trial that is corrected.”
Corrigan’s attorney Rhonda Anderson informed the court that he denies the charges he faces. She also said: “The defence has lodged an alibi defense that is unique to the case.”
Prosecutor Richard Goddard KC also asked for the trial to be scheduled. Lady Stacey was able to arrange the trial to start in July.
